About Us

Like most computer people my interest started as a hobby fifteen year ago. First I learned to install and use Linux on an old HP computer because it was too slow to run Windows. I found the experience with Linux to be very satisfying because I could customize the operating system to a greater degree than Windows allowed.

I then began programming microcontrollers like the Atmega 32 because Linux provides free tools to work with this type of low level hardware. These little chips are the backbone of the Internet of Things ecosystem and are in almost every electronic gadget now. Programming them is a good way to learn basic computer concepts. The program can be customized to produce code that is useful for whatever application is required. I found this just as satisfying as learning to use Linux.

From here I began learning more about both the hardware and the software of electronic gadgets. I learned to read schematics on the hardware side and how to program in higher level languages on the software side. With the knowledge I learned in these two areas I began to fix to old computers that had been recycled.

I now plan to use this knowledge as a base to learn more about evolving technology and to serve the community's PC Repair needs. It is from this knowledge I have developed a strong personal opinion about the need to recycle computer hardware.
